Community terms
Effective 17 July 2026. These terms apply only to optional hosted accounts and catch sharing. The local fishing guide and private, on-device logbook do not require an account.
1. Who operates the service
The hosted Cork Fishing community service is operated by JMS Dev Lab. Contact [email protected] about these terms, account support, privacy, safety or moderation.
2. Eligibility and account security
You must be at least 18 years old to create or use a hosted community account. You must provide accurate eligibility confirmations, protect your sign-in method and promptly report suspected account misuse. Do not share an account or attempt to use another person's account.
3. What the community service does
The service lets eligible users publish deliberately reduced catch reports, processed photos and, when enabled, share reports with trusted groups or a delayed public feed. It does not verify a catch, establish a right of access, replace fisheries rules or guarantee that a place or condition is safe.
4. Your content and the permission you give us
You keep ownership of content you submit. You confirm that you have the rights needed to share it and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
You give JMS Dev Lab a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, copy, re-encode, display and distribute that content only as needed to operate, secure, moderate and improve the community service according to the audience you select. This licence ends when the content is deleted from live systems, except for short-lived backups, lawful preservation and content-free audit records described in the privacy notice.
5. Content and conduct rules
You must not submit or promote:
- exact or sensitive fishing locations, private marks, private-access directions or another person's personal information;
- illegal fishing, poaching, trespass, cruelty, dangerous conduct or evasion of conservation rules;
- harassment, threats, hate, impersonation, doxxing, sexual exploitation or content involving a child;
- spam, malware, deceptive promotion, manipulated evidence or material that infringes copyright or other rights; or
- attempts to bypass rate limits, access controls, moderation, delayed publication or security testing boundaries.
Respect landowners, fisheries, other anglers, wildlife and the law. Never treat community reports as live safety or stock information.
6. Moderation, removal and appeals
We may delay, limit, hold or remove content and may suspend an account when reasonably necessary for safety, privacy, security, legal compliance or these rules. Automated signals may prioritise or temporarily hold material, but do not make permanent account bans. Eligible limit, removal and suspension decisions provide a 30-day appeal path. An appeal can be upheld or the content/account restored after human review.
You can immediately revoke your own hosted report. Urgent privacy, access, safeguarding or illegal-content concerns should be sent to [email protected].
7. Closing an account
You may export hosted account data and request deletion from the account screen. Deletion disables hosted access and publication, removes live records and processed media, and asks the identity provider to remove the identity. Limited security, moderation, legal-hold and backup records may remain for the periods explained in the privacy notice.
8. Availability, safety and legal compliance
The service may change, pause or close, including to contain an incident or when moderation is not staffed. You remain responsible for checking current weather, tides, warnings, access permission, licences and fishing regulations with authoritative sources. Nothing in the service is professional safety, legal or fisheries advice.
9. Liability and consumer rights
To the fullest extent permitted by law, JMS Dev Lab is not responsible for losses caused by reliance on user-submitted reports, unauthorised access, changing field conditions or third-party services outside its reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits any mandatory consumer right.
10. Changes and governing law
Material changes will receive a new immutable version and will require renewed acceptance before continued hosted use. These terms are governed by Irish law, without removing any mandatory rights you have under the law that applies where you live.
